New numbers released by an investment bank find the Eagle Ford Shale, already thought to be be a huge oil find, could “dwarf” all other oil fields in Texas.
This shale play is unique in that it’s not just natural gas, like the Barnett Shale in North Texas. The Eagle Ford Shale is located in South Texas and contains natural gas, liquids, and oil.
From Texas Energy Report: “The Texas Railroad Commission’s Eagle Ford Task Force has decided the oil shale play’s most pressing issues are fracking water usage, community infrastructure impacts and economic development. The group will discuss those issues through the rest of the year, a commission news release stated. The group also plans to address the need for public education about oil and gas production and employers’ challenges for hiring needed workers.”
